McDougall Energy Awarded Business of the Year from Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce
Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario – March 2, 2020: On Saturday, February 29, McDougall Energy Inc. (“McDougall Energy”) was awarded an Outstanding Business Achievement Award from the Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce (“SSMCOC”) as the “2019 Business of the Year” in the 26+ employees category.
The annual awards gala hosted by the SSMCOC celebrated innovation, creativity, leadership and entrepreneurship in Sault Ste. Marie and area. The distinguished Business of the Year award recognizes growth, innovation, marketing strategy, and consumer excellence in the community.

Now in its third generation of family ownership, McDougall Energy has grown from its beginnings in 1949 in Thessalon, Ontario, to become among the largest integrated distributors of Esso™ fuels and Mobil™ lubricant products in Canada. The energy company operates in various regions across Canada, serving households, businesses, motorists and wholesale energy customers. Its predecessor corporation, McDougall Fuels, opened a branch office in the Sault in 1988. At that time, McDougall Fuels employed approximately 17 people. Its head office remains in Sault Ste.
